A Message from Yvette

Thank you for being here.

My work didn’t begin in a therapy office. It began in a classroom.

As a teacher, I found myself less interested in lesson plans and more drawn to the children who were struggling the ones labeled difficult, distracted, emotional, or “too much.” I saw myself in them. Growing up, I was often misunderstood. No one had language for the mix of autism and ADHD shaping how I experienced the world. There were no containers for it yet.

I became a therapist because I wanted to help in ways I couldn’t from the front of a classroom. I wanted to understand behavior, emotion, attachment, and the nervous system not just manage them.

Then I became a mother to two neurodivergent children.

They stretched me in ways no graduate program could. As research expanded, I began putting language to my own experience. My professional growth and personal healing began to intertwine. I stopped trying to fit into systems that weren’t built for my wiring and started building systems that worked with it.

My relational work deepened after my divorce. I became committed to understanding love, conflict, attachment, intimacy, and the complexity of connection, especially within neurodivergent relationships. That season reshaped how I sit with couples and individuals today. I don’t approach relationships theoretically. I approach them as layered, vulnerable, and deeply human.

And then my body demanded attention.

After years of pouring into my family, clients, growth, and business, my health shifted. I gained weight that wouldn’t move. My energy disappeared. Brain fog set in. Painful cycles, endometriosis flares, intense PMS, cravings. I tried diets, boutique workouts, and willpower. I began to believe this was simply genetic fate that metabolic dysfunction was “my turn.”

It wasn’t.

What began as a reluctant year on Noom sparked curiosity. That curiosity led me into metabolic health, insulin resistance, hormone balance, perimenopause, cycle syncing, strength training, and nervous system support through nutrition. It also led me into deeper work around digestion, inflammation, and histamine regulation. I improved my gut health. I reduced chronic allergy symptoms that had once kept me cycling through antibiotics and constant illness.

I began to see how interconnected everything truly was.

I also realized how physiologically unwell I had been and how reversible much of it could be with the right support.

That transformation didn’t just change my habits; it changed my direction. My desire to understand the body, not only emotionally but biochemically, led me to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. I wanted formal training so I could responsibly integrate nutrition into my counseling work and also offer standalone nutrition support for those whose mental and emotional health are deeply tied to physiology.

As my metabolic health improved, everything improved.

My neurodivergent symptoms became more manageable.

My energy returned.

The weight shifted.

My painful cycles eased.

I could keep up with my boys again.

For the first time, my brain and body felt like they were on the same team.

That journey reshaped my practice.

Today, I don’t separate therapy from physiology. I look at the whole system: nervous system, attachment, blood sugar, hormones, digestion, stress, and nourishment.

Some clients come to me for therapy.

Some come for nutrition support.

Some come because they need both.

However you arrive, the goal is the same: to understand your patterns, strengthen your foundation, and build sustainable change from the inside out.

I believe most people are not broken, they are under-supported.

And when we address both the mind and the body, healing becomes far more possible than we were led to believe.

My Philosophy

Healing, to me, means restoring harmony between the mind and the body.

Emotions are not random. Behavior is not isolated. Symptoms are not character flaws. They are signals. When we slow down enough to listen to what the nervous system, metabolism, and attachment patterns are communicating, meaningful change begins.

I believe growth requires understanding, not just coping skills. Whether we are working through relational conflict, neurodivergent overwhelm, hormone shifts, or blood sugar instability, the goal is the same: move from survival into awareness, and from awareness into sustainable regulation.

You don’t have to be perfect to change.

You simply have to be willing to look honestly and begin.

My Approach

Clients often describe me as grounded and direct, someone who listens carefully, asks thoughtful questions, and balances warmth with clarity.

I don’t believe in surface-level work. I believe in depth.

Some clients work with me strictly for therapy.

Some come for standalone nutrition support.

Others choose an integrative model where we address both emotional and physiological patterns together.

My approach is educational, collaborative, and practical. We explore your story, identify patterns that no longer serve you, and build tools that support nervous system stability, metabolic health, and relational resilience.

This is not about chasing quick fixes. It’s about building foundations — nourishment, stress regulation, sleep, digestion, blood sugar balance, and emotional awareness — so your growth is sustainable.

You deserve support that considers the whole system.

Ways We Can Work Together

Every client arrives with different needs. Some come for therapy. Some come for nutrition support. Some need both.

Below are the primary pathways of care at Nourivida Wellness.

Therapy

For individuals, couples, and families seeking emotional and relational support.

Focus areas include:

  • Neurodivergence & High Sensitivity

Autism, ADHD, giftedness, twice-exceptionality, emotional intensity, identity development

  • Emotional Regulation & Trauma Recovery

Anxiety, depression, PTSD & CPTSD, chronic stress, attachment wounds, high-conflict relational patterns

  • Couples & Family Work

Gottman-informed relationship repair, affairs, addiction recovery support, blended families, divorce, discernment counseling, Bringing Home Baby

Therapy focuses on strengthening emotional awareness, nervous system regulation, attachment security, and relational resilience.

Nutrition Therapy

For those seeking support with metabolic, hormonal, and physiological foundations, whether or not they are in therapy.

Common focus areas include:

  • Blood sugar regulation and insulin resistance

  • Perimenopause, PMDD, and hormone-related mood shifts

  • Digestive dysfunction and inflammation

  • Histamine sensitivity and chronic allergy patterns

  • Emotional eating and stress-driven food cycles

  • Energy instability and metabolic burnout

Nutrition therapy addresses the foundational pillars of nourishment, sleep, stress load, digestion, and blood sugar balance. The goal is sustainable physiological stability that supports cognitive clarity, mood regulation, and long-term vitality.

Integrative Mental Health

For clients who want a combined approach.

Mental and physical health are not separate systems. Mood, focus, cravings, anxiety, and reactivity are often influenced by metabolic, hormonal, and nervous system patterns.

In integrative work, we examine:

  • Attachment and relational dynamics

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Hormone and stress physiology

  • Sleep and recovery patterns

  • Blood sugar stability and nutrient sufficiency

This model allows us to address root contributors, not just symptoms, while building practical, personalized strategies that align with your biology.

Different thinking, rational and irrational thinking concept. Mental health and problems w

“It takes a lot more courage to let something go than it does to hang on to it, trying to make it better. Letting go doesn’t mean ignoring a situation. Letting go means accepting what is, exactly as it is, without fear, resistance, or a struggle for control.”
— Iyanla Vanzant

Defining Success Together

Success in our work isn’t about perfection. It’s about progress, awareness, and alignment.

For individuals, success often looks like navigating emotions with greater steadiness and clarity.

For couples, it’s the moment they say, “We’re friends again. We recover faster. We feel like a team.”

For nutrition clients, it may look like stable energy, fewer mood swings, improved digestion, balanced hormones, or finally feeling at home in their body again.

Clients often describe leaving sessions feeling lighter, more grounded, and equipped with practical insight they can apply to daily life.

The people who experience the most meaningful growth here are willing to engage honestly in the process. They are open to examining patterns: emotional, relational, and physiological and ready to build sustainable change from the inside out.

My role is not to fix you. It’s to guide, educate, and challenge you with care so that lasting transformation becomes possible.

Professional Background

I’ve been doing this work for over two decades and it still feels deeply meaningful every day.

Beyond the Office

I’m entertainingly married and part of a blended neurodiverse family with two teenage sons and a teenage stepdaughter. Family life keeps me grounded, inspired, and constantly learning about communication, balance, and grace.

Outside of my clinical work, I wear many hats: Homeschooling Educator, Workshop Leader, Qualified Supervisor, and partner in my husband's businesses.  I love the variety of it all and the opportunity to help people learn, grow, and experience life in meaningful ways.

When I’m not working, you’ll often find me traveling, exploring new places, or relaxing at the beach with my service animal and therapy dog, Bella. I’m an unapologetic creative with ADHD, which means I’m usually making something, painting, crocheting, designing, or dreaming up my next project. I live by the motto “work hard, play hard,” and I strive to bring that same energy of curiosity and joy into every part of my life.

My dream for Nourivida Wellness is to continue expanding into a comprehensive well-being center, a space where individuals and families can access a full spectrum of services to help them become the healthiest, most authentic version of themselves.

You'll find a mix of couch thoughts, parent coaching, divorce and couples tips, ideas and strategies
