At Nourivida Wellness, we know that seeking help, whether for your emotional, physical, or relational well-being is an act of courage, not weakness.

Below are answers to some of the most common questions about our practice and services.

Do you recommend medication?
We do not prescribe medication. If you’re exploring that route, we can coordinate with your medical provider or psychiatrist. In our integrative work, we also look at how nutrition, sleep, stress, and lifestyle affect mood and energy. Often, small changes in these foundations can make a meaningful difference.
Can you prescribe medical marijuana?
No. Only licensed medical or osteopathic doctors (MDs or DOs) and naturopathic physicians (ND/NMD) can provide qualifying recommendations for medical marijuana.
What if my child or teen doesn’t want to come to counseling?
That’s common, new experiences can feel intimidating. We recommend parents frame therapy as a safe space to talk, rather than a punishment. Ask your child to attend three to five sessions before deciding; once rapport builds, resistance often fades.

Will I be involved in my child’s therapy?
Yes. Parents play an important role in a child’s progress. We’ll collaborate with you to understand your child’s needs, provide parenting support, and keep you informed about treatment goals. Sometimes sessions may include parent coaching or referrals for additional family work because your well-being directly affects your child’s.

Do you coordinate care with schools or doctors?
Absolutely. With your written consent, we can collaborate with teachers, school counselors, pediatricians, or other professionals involved in your child’s care to ensure consistent support.

Do you provide custody evaluations or court testimony?
No. Therapeutic services are separate from legal evaluations.
Our focus is always on providing a safe, confidential space for healing, not participating in custody recommendations or legal disputes.

Do you provide ESA or service-animal letters?
For established patients, we may conduct a disability evaluation to determine eligibility for an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) or Service Animal letter.
Evaluations require at least one year of ongoing treatment and clinical evidence that the animal alleviates symptoms related to a documented mental-health condition. There is no guarantee a letter will be issued; ethical and diagnostic standards apply.

Do you accept insurance?
Yes, for counseling services only.
We work with both in-network and out-of-network insurance plans. Nutrition Therapy is self-pay at this time.

Where do sessions take place?
Counseling: In-person in Port St. Lucie, FL, or virtually across Florida, Colorado, and New Mexico.
Nutrition Therapy: In-person in Port St Lucie, Virtual services are available nationwide (U.S.).

What if the service I need isn’t available?
If your needs fall outside our scope for example, you require a medical provider, intensive treatment, or specialized nutrition testing we’ll guide you toward a trusted professional or program in our referral network.
Our goal is that you receive the best care for your situation, even if that means connecting you elsewhere.
